Rogério Mazali is a professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Brasília (UnB) and director  of the Center for Research in Economics and Finance (CIEF) of the University of Brasilia.. His research focuses on the areas of Corporate Finance, Industrial Organization, and Economic Theory, with an emphasis on Corporate Finance, mainly addressing the following themes: interactions between financial and product markets, innovation and competition, predation theories, matching, and status goods. His work has been published in journals such as Games and Economic Behavior and Emerging Markets Finance and Trade. 

Rogério Mazali holds a PhD in Finance from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, with a thesis defended in May 2012. He has a degree in Economics from the University of Brasília (1996), a master's degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin - Madison (2003), and a master's degree in Economics from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (2001).

In 2019, he worked as a Visiting Scholar at the Research School of Economics of the Australian National University. In 2025, he worked as a Research Visitor at the Energy Centre of the University of Auckland in New Zealand.

Previously, Dr. Mazali taught at the Catholic University of Brasília (UCB) from 2012 to 2019, and at Tulane University (New Orleans, USA) from 2010 to 2012. Prof. Mazali also worked as a Team Coordinator of the Modeling Team in the Undersecretariat for Macroeconomic Analysis at the Secretariat for Economic Policy of the Ministry of Economics between 2022 and 2023.
